Immediately
engaging the viewer, Debra Clemente's boldly graphic and energetic
oil paintings are colorful, luminescent and optimistic.
Painting
solely with a palette knife and from her memories, Clemente's
evocative renderings of fields and prairies are gently
abstracted. Free from the distraction of unnecessary details,
Clemente finds she is able to express the essence of the scene.
Debra
Clemente and her husband David live in an empty nest in Lawrence,
Kansas as their two children are now in college. Besides painting,
Debra makes use her art and design talents by working with husband,
David in his building
development enterprises and Stone
Creek, their upscale casual dining establishment in Lawrence. ART
